The Briar Rose: Found: an RP with peterpiedpiper

This whole mess was caused by the simple act of a misstep?  Peter shook his head in wonder, not able to fully believe how clumsy Ariella was.  And to think, that once her “other” self had been the picture of grace…Putting that out of mind, he looked around them, to see if there was a place to put the injured woman.  There were a few boxes stacked nearby that she could sit on, but besides that, the alleys were empty, unless…

He moved over to the boxes and placed her down carefully before turning to one of the locked doors nearby.  Peter wasn’t sure if it led to the bar or the clothing store, as both were next door to each other and the back doors all looked similar, but it wouldn’t matter.  They wouldn’t notice anyone in their back rooms for a few minutes.

Taking a small pic and a thin metal rod out of his pocket, the young man squatted down at the key lock and began messing with it.  It didn’t take long before there was a “click”, and when Peter tried the door it opened with ease.  He went back over to Ariella, and helping her up, led her into the now open back room.

“It isn’t much on short notice,” he said, flipping on the light, “but it’ll do until you regain yourself.”  There was a small couch in the room, so Peter sat her down there.  ”Feeling any better?”

She watched as he picked the lock of a back door, he was basically breaking into whatever store this was. It wasn’t that surprising, that he could pick locks. But Ariella found it amusing. She smiled lightly and briefly before he turned back to her and helped her inside.

As they walked inside, Ariella prayed no one would find them back here. The light suddenly turning on made Ariella’s already-pounding-head hurt more, but she attempted to ignore it and relaxed into the couch.

She held her head in her hands and sighed, shaking her head slightly in disbelief at herself. Clumsy wasn’t something she normally was. Ariella sat up straight and looked around the small room. “Yeah… I’m better.” She answered Peter, keeping a hand on the wound. “Thanks.”

Last Wish? That’s actually kind of hard… I suppose it would be to see my aunts again.

When would the warden start letting Peter have parole during the day, instead of only letting him out at night?  It would have made things easier for him, especially with how his plans were forming, but as irritating as it was, the knowledge that he couldn’t do anything about it at the moment helped ease his temper.  At least he had the cover of darkness at night, if he ever needed it.

Currently, he was headed over to the small town’s convenience store to buy a few smokes, wanting to see if his old (and small) addiction was still in his system.  There was a little short cut through some back alleys that he used to take, and after walking a little ways, Peter decided to test his memory and entered the small maze of alleyways.

As he walked, Peter spotted something - or rather, someone - lying on the ground next to the dumpster, and his first thought that it must’ve been some drunk.  After a closer look, however, he noticed that the person looked like a certain beautician he knew.  Stepping next to her body, he squatted down, looking her over.

“Well, you don’t look too good,” he commented, brushing a hand over a blood stain.  ”How long have you been here?”

It was several moments before Ariella’s vision came to, she looked up at Peter, confusion written all over her face. “Um…” She started, looking around the alleyway. Wincing, she put a hand on her head. “I have no idea…”

Ariella shook it off, and attempted to stand again, but she stumbled. Unable to get her bearings.

She didn’t smell of alcohol, and she didn’t sound like one, but Ariella was definitely walking like one.  Peter stood as she stood, and when she stumbled, he caught her by the shoulder, hiding an amused smirk.  He put his arm around her, hoisting her up as he took her arm and put it around his shoulders.

“Too long,” he guessed, noting the blood spots in her hair.  ”Anyways, what did you do to yourself?  You look horrible.”  They slowly made their way through the alley, and as they walked, Peter wondered where exactly to put Ariella.  It wasn’t as if he could walk in with her into the convenience store and not be accused of being responsible.

Surprised as he caught her while she stumbled, Ariella watched him as he put an arm around her, and her arm over his shoulders. She held onto his shirt shortly after her arm was placed there.

Laughing, she added with a sarcastic tone; “That’s flattering. Thank you for that.” Ariella rolled her eyes, and tried to relax. But found it hard. “I slipped, and hit my head on the dumpster.” Sighing, she began to wonder where Peter was going with her. ”At least, I think that’s what happened. I don’t remember much.”
